
Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS), Pokhara opened in 1994 with an MBBS Degree programme. The 700-bed Manipal Teaching Hospital (MTH), Pokhara was inaugurated in 1998. The college and hospital have been set up with the modern facilities for medical education and health care.
Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS), Pokhara is affiliated to Kathmandu University. The College is the result of collaboration between the Manipal Group and the Government of Nepal.
MBBS Degree Course duration: Five and half years (4 ½ years + 1 year Internship)

20% seats are reserved for Government of Nepal nominated candidates, MCOMS does not charge any fees from these students. Another 13% seats are offered to Nepalese candidates in the payment category. (MCOMS being rated the best college in Nepal gets the top ranked students from a country wide entrance test). Besides students from Nepal, MCOMS gets a large number of students from India and Sri Lanka. MCOMS also gets a few students from USA, Canada, S Africa, Bangladesh and other countries. About 60 % of the students are men and 40 % women.
Postgraduate Courses: Besides the MBBS Degree course, postgraduate courses are available in all the basic science subjects and some clinical subjects. The duration of the MD course is three years and the M Sc course is two years.
